When attempting to run an XCEDE report in XPA, the following error message occurs after clicking OK in the Jobstream Run window.

XCEDE Reporting

Connection to the database is failed.

Make sure the required Microsoft database driver

(microsoft.ace.oledb.12) is installed.

Please review the XPA Installation Instructions or the Reckon APS

knowledge base for more details.

(The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local

machine.)

After clicking OK to this error message, nothing happens and the user is taken back to the Jobstream window.

Cause

This error is due to a Microsoft Office component required for the XCEDE Reporting to run. In the past, this Microsoft Office component was installed as part of Microsoft Office, but is now discontinued and is not installed with Office 2013 / Office 2016

Note: With environments where Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 were installed prior and an upgrade to Office 2013 / Office 2016 is done, the required Microsoft Office component may still exist, and therefore this error shown above will not occur.

Resolution

The following Microsoft Component will need to be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Download Center.

Component Name: Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable

Download Link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=13255

ImportantInstall the 32 bit version because Xcede is a 32 bit application/ Alternatively, the Access Engine can be downloaded here - AccessDatabaseEngine.exe
