Description:
When we add a form for a 2016 tax return there is no SBR option. The form type still refers to ELS (Lodge the return using electronic lodgement service – Yes/No)
Resolution
As the ELS lodgement system is no more, prior year returns are now lodged via SBR. In Batch Processing, prior year returns are lodged via SBR even when the lodgement method in the return is ELS.
To lodge ELS returns via SBR system, please make sure your ELS Registration Number and lodgement office are filled in the Tax Agent console.
Note:
Despite there might be error messages when lodging the prior year returns and they showed as failed lodgement, they had in fact lodged. It's the best to check the ATO portal the next day as the returns probably lodged despite receiving an error.
