When trying to enter a journal in XPA, the user receives an error Disk I/O error during read
A compact/repair of the ledger stopped the error from happening.
- Open > Advance Applications list
- Under the Xcede Professional Accounting heading > Administration Tool
- Ensure you have the correct practice selected > search for the ledger name containing the error
- Right click on the ledger and select > compact/repair XPA file
- Test that the error no longer occurs
