An issue has been reported in Reckon APS Tax 2019.3.0 where Tax Manager is incorrectly calculating the Preservation Age. This issue affects some 2019 Individual Tax Returns. The following error message is triggered:

VR.ATO.IITR.000089 Spouse's date of birth The spouse must be between preservation age and 59 at the time they received a superannuation lump sum payment where the taxed element has a zero tax rate.

The Product Manager reports that the specifications from the ATO are incorrect and will need to raise this with the ATO.

Update 07/11/19: This has been fixed by the ATO in the second October SBR specifications release. Please try Pre-lodge and then Lodge the return via Batch processing.

Update 25/11/19: This issue has been fixed in Reckon APS Tax 2019.6.0.
